Your Work is in the Numbers [2]: Ashley

AshleyHello, everyone, and welcome to the second installment of my new column, Your Work is in the Numbers! For those who may be new to the blog, this column represents the initial phase of my professional career intuitive coaching service with clients.

The purpose of this type of coaching service is to help people make career transitions into work that is a part of their calling, their purpose, their mission in this life.

I began this work, after being introduced to it in 2009 (the details of the story can be read in the first installment of this column). The process begins with an exploration of the client’s career path, using the numbers in the date of birth, and adding his or her sun sign to the mix. It’s a metaphysical approach to the more traditional career coaching and counseling.

I was immediately contacted by the subject of this installment of the column, Ashley, shortly after the entry was posted (I loved how quick the response was!). She was interested in sharing her numbers and seeing the result. Ashley gave me permission to share her background (what has led to having this done) and what I have discovered working with her numbers and sun sign.

Art Institute of Charlotte

Here’s Ashley’s background, in her own words:

I worked for a grocery retail chain for 5 years, and I had the opportunity to work with you in Charleston (It’s a small world; Ashley and I worked together at the same store)! I worked as a cashier. I currently work for another grocery retail chain here in North Carolina, where I moved to.

Before my career in retail, I was a stay at home mom until my children were ready for school. Currently, I’m also a student at the Art Institute of Charlotte for my bachelor’s in interior design. My goal is to have my own business, helping others create spaces where they can relax and renew their minds, bodies, and spirits.

Ashley’s birthday is January 29. Taking this, and the year of her birth, her birth path calculates to 3.

Social grace, playfulness, and beauty are expressions of the 3 birth path. AshleyThe work of the 3 path must involve creative self-expression, as well as leading others (as a writer or teacher).

The 3 person has to find the unique ways to express him or herself. Words and ideas are key here. The 3 person’s gift of creativity and teaching should provide a fine living. Such work can be expressed as an actor, singer, talk-show host, freelance journalist, interior designer, dancer, beautician, fashion model, hostess, social director, elementary school teacher, or art therapist.

With the additional influence of Aquarius, Ashley’s ability to teach and inspire others is vitally important on her path. She’s being asked to use these Aquarian strengths to change the world, as Aquarius is the sign that points to being the humanitarian and forward thinking. Ashley

Cultivating new ideas is essential for her to do. With this sign, Ashley is being encouraged to take classes, read great books, and surround herself with thought-provoking people. Education will help her move forward, from the more mundane aspects of life to the more philosophical.

Combining the two, Ashley has an Aquarius 3 path. With this path, Ashley will thrive in a classroom, whether she’s the teacher or the student. Writing and language courses should be taken early on. No matter the career expression, Ashley will be on the right path when she teaches what comes naturally to her.

The talents associated with the 3 are the ability to create or design beautiful things, and to express complex ideas brilliantly through words, visual arts, or dance. The 3 path values creativity, social interaction, and self-expression.

I was so excited when I discovered Ashley has a 3 birth path, and that she is working toward a career in interior design, that I e-mailed her immediately to share this discovery with her. I absolutely love it when the client is moving in alignment with his or her birth path.

As I said at the beginning, this is just the initial part of the process. There are other elements to take into account that would make Ashley’s journey unique to her, and different Ashleyfrom other Aquarius 3 people.

Her career background is important, as she has learned skills that will serve her as she moves forward.

As an interior designer, Ashley will need to consider such things as her design style (her creative self-expression), the types of clients she wants to work with, and whether she will work for herself (she wants to start her own business), or as part of a design firm.

Coaching could help Ashley with these things in the future.

I would like to thank Ashley for allowing herself to be the object lesson for this installment of Your Work is in the Numbers. If you are interested in knowing what work lies within your numbers, and having that work featured in a future installment of the column, consider sending your birthdate in an e-mail to me at james@jameshimm.com, with “Your work is in the numbers” in the subject line.

Here’s hoping you discover your great work, so you can get about the business of doing it.

Your coach and “numbers cruncher,”
