Today’s Tarot: Trusting Life

Yesterday, I had a session with a client. Seeing many of the Tarot decks in my collection displayed on the shelves in my consultation room, she asked if she could look through some of them when we were done. Of course I said yes!

One of the decks she asked to look at was the Osho Zen Tarot. We discussed some of the cards as she looked through the deck. She asked me how long I’ve had it and how often I use it, and I told her. Without missing a beat, and quite emphatically, she said, “You need to be reading with these cards more.”

So, as per her request, today’s card, the Knight of Cups, comes from the Osho Zen Tarot.

In the image, the Knight has taken a leap, flying through the air, with no cord, parachute, or safety net in sight. This is a card of total and absolute trust, with no reservations.

The image reminds me of something I said to that client yesterday; The Fool appeared in her reading, and I said to her that the card was about taking a leap of faith, and moving into the unknown with trust that the next step would be provided for her.

It is the same here—which I now see as the connection between her statement and my pulling this card today. I trusted enough in her statement and went with it. In the transcendental game of Zen (which this deck is based), this is the act of trusting life.

So, for today, reflect on how you trust life. As I type those words, I think of the wonderful queen of affirmations, Louise Hay, as she affirms, “Life loves me. I trust life.”

Will that be your affirmation today?
