Your Work is in the Numbers: Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama

Recently, on my Facebook page for LifePlan, people have been asking me about the nature of my work as a career intuitive coach. I thought, in response to those questions and messages, it would be interesting to pick a person that would be known, on some level, to a majority of people, and use that person as an example to showcase the work I do. I have actually chosen two.

Here, in the United States, Monday, January 21, 2013 was a day in which Americans observed two events: the first being honoring the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; and the other being the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. In light of this, I will be using these two history-making individuals as subjects for this column.

The Work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.–by the Numbers

MLK resizeRev. Dr. King was born January 15, 1929. In calculating his numbers, his path is a 1 Birth Path. People with a 1 Birth Path are destined to be leaders, and Rev. Dr. King was certainly that, being both a minister and one of the leaders of the civil rights movement. Characteristics of a person with a 1 Birth Path are leadership, originality, initiative, independence, and freedom in decision-making. People with a 1 Birth Path must imagine new things and introduce new concepts. Possible career paths for 1 Birth Path individuals include politicians and political leaders.

Being born on the 15th of the month, King’s day number reduces to 6 (15=1+5=6). 6 is a number which characterizes things like justice and social order, which, pertaining to King, reflects his work for the civil rights of African-Americans. The 6 is a number that vibrates responsibility, and a need for harmony. Diplomats and lobbyists are possible career paths that are associated with the 6.

Being born on January 15, King was a Capricorn, an earth sign that has the gift of perserverance and a strong determination. This makes King’s full Birth Path a Capricorn 1. As such, he had an intense focus needed to get up the mountain of his lofty mission. A Capricorn 1 needs to be true to his own vision, sometimes at the expense of his personal family life.

Each of us goes through a nine-year career cycle, and each year within that cycle vibrates to a different frequency that corresponds to the number of the cycle in a particular year. Once the cycle completes, another nine-year cycle begins. In calculating the career cycle in the year of King’s assassination (1968), he was in a 22 Career Cycle. The 22 is a Master Number and carries a significant vibration. In a 22 Year, one is being called to put his greatest aspirations and inspirations into practical reality. In King’s case, he was being called to take his most advanced ideas and turn them into workable forms, so that humanity and society can benefit from his work. A person in a 22 Career Cycle is asked to do his best for the world-at-large and introduce enormous changes. It is a cycle that the individual may accomplish his greatest career achievements, with the sense that the work will be his legacy, and is kept moving forward. It can also be a year that the person and his work may receive the sting of criticism from others.

The last thing I calculated was the vibration of the actual day of King’s assassination, which was April 4. For King, this day vibrated at a 5, which means the day is a day of change and the unexpected. A 5 day can be a major turning point day for the individual.

I am astounded at Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s numbers, and how he lived out the Great Work of his life, and indeed left a legacy that we, collectively, have kept moving forward. King’s work set the stage for Barack Obama to become the first African-American President of the United States.

The Work of President Barack Obama–by the Numbers

ObamaPresident Obama was born on August 4, 1961. In calculating his numbers, I discovered he has a Master Soul Vibration of 11. Individuals with an 11 Birth Path are called to be inspirational and visionary. These people can potentially change the consciousness of humanity as they serve the world. Possible careers for the 11 Birth Path include politician, diplomat, orator and political reformer. I recall, in 2008, when President Obama was first elected, people were connecting to his vision of what the country could be; people were feeling inspired. As President Obama has proven in his first term, the 11 will attract great praise and criticism as he lives up to the work of his path.

Being born on August 4, President Obama is a Leo, which makes his path a Leo 11. As such, his leadership involves helping us achieve our highest human potential. A Leo 11 wants to leave a legacy of enlightened, humanitarian ideas, and the President is being called to be a powerful change agent in politics. He is to keep a brave persona and protect his sensitive nature from words of criticism as he moves forward in his second term.

Being born on the 4th of the month, structure, order, discipline, and building upon a solid foundation will also be aspects of the President’s work. The 4 is a work number, and can suggest hard work, which would characterize the tasks he faces during this second term. When it comes to plans being made, and systems being created and re-structured, there will be a strong need to be detail-minded, as well as the details of those plans and systems being analyzed and scrutinized. It’s a serious and responsible number. The President’s work requires him to get practical, build the foundation for future growth, set a budget, and get things in order.

For the President, his Career Cycle is a 9 Year. The 9 is all about completion and endings. The 9 is a number that represents completions of cycles, and things come up that need to be examined and discarded. In this cycle, the President is being encouraged to review the events that transpired during his first term, and ask what lessons he learned from those experiences. This can also be a pivotal year, as it sets the stage for the following year, which, for the President, would be the start of his new nine-year cycle.

The last thing I want to touch on is the vibration of the day of the inauguration. January 21, 2013 calculates to a 1 Universal Day. The 1 Day vibrates as a day of beginnings, which is fitting as this day was the first day of the President’s second term in office.
