Success in 12 Months: Your “Fear Factor Game Plan”

fear factor

Welcome to the third week of Month 5 in the “Success in 12 Months” blog series!

Last week, your exercise was to document how three big fears could stop you from reaching your goals. Have you been strategizing how to deal with this?  Great! Because this week you’ll be writing out your “Fear Factor Game Plan.”

Hopefully, eating worms isn’t one of the fears you decided to attack, but if it is, please let me know your game plan for getting over that one!

For example, in business, every owner is a salesperson, so if you think you’re lame at “going for the no,” that should be one of your fears to crumble. Think about how you’ve been turned off by a salesperson. Did they ask too many questions or were they full of answers? Chances are they were “telling” you why you “needed” their widget.

A better approach is to act as if you are a doctor and ask questions. Imagine if your doctor just handed you a prescription without asking what was bothering you?!

Successful people take action in spite of fear. They know the best way to deal with a fear is to confront it. This week, it’s time to confront your fears. So go grab a jar of spiders and pour them on your head!

Or…

You could just choose one of the fears from the exercise and decide how to confront it. Create a “game plan” on how you can confront your fear. Document how you are going to work with or around your fears so you don’t stumble on your success path. Be as specific as possible:

The Fear:

How You Will Confront It:

As I always say, if you want to share your thoughts and your progress during this month, please feel free to send me an e-mail, letting me know what ‘s been happening for you. I’m investing in you and want to support you in your success!

Your team player in the game of success,

James
