Today’s Tarot: Your Show of Strength

Boldness (also known as Strength), from the Bright Idea Deck.

When our Tarot card for today, Boldness,  flexes its way into your routine, you are being encouraged to show the world just how strong you really are.

Boldness (also known as Strength) is a reminder that strength is not just physical (our friend doing his reps with the barbell). We are strong in so many ways. We can be strong physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. And we each have that one area in which we are strongest. What’s yours?

Our friend also reminds us that, whether it’s an area we are already strong in, or an area we want to develop, strength requires regular exercise. Just like a muscle, we have to flex it. What do you do to keep your strength up?

Boldness also comes when we are ready to take off our rose-colored glasses and see things as they really are. How might that apply to you today? What would change for you if you saw things are they really are—and not as you would like them to be? What kind of strength would you need to do so?

Our friend stepping on the snake underfoot suggests that we have the strength—if we are determined enough—to overcome those things that might otherwise trip us up. As the man suggests by looking down, sometimes those things are not staring us right in the face. Not everything is that obvious. The first “step” though is having the willingness to face (admit) they exist—and look them head on.

The foot that has cracked the pavement is also a show of strength. Where might you need to “put your foot down?” It can be a  bold thing when we stand up for ourselves and assert ourselves (both for ourselves and the people on the receiving end). But the cracks are also a warning: Asserting yourself doesn’t mean you need to become destructive. It can take a lot of strength to assert yourself—and still be kind, loving, and patient with those around you.

And that is actually the greatest show of your strength: Your strength of character.
